Jerico is a small meaningful town, home to Colombia’s only canonized saint, Madre Laura (Mother Laura). The town maintains a rich coffee culture that radiates throughout the streets and is also home to an exclusive decaf plant where this blend was made! When the coffee first arrives to the Decaf plant, it is placed in big silos that give off a light steam to open the pores of the beans to extract the caffeine. After being transferred to larger tanks to continue with the caffeine removal for another 24 hours, our exclusive Madre Decaf blend is ready to drink! It has notes of chocolate and butterscotch, this coffee is one way to start your morning with a treat!

PROCESS
Process in Columbia's only and exclusive Decaf plant, DESCAFECOL, the green coffee beans are first steamed to open their pores, then submerged in a tank with water and Ethyl Acetate (EA), a compound derived from fermented sugarcane—which naturally bonds with and removes about 98-99% of the caffeine over a 24-hour period.
